As the Opti-Myst fireplaces are relatively new on the market, a lot of questions can arise before purchasing. Perhaps you haven't even heard of an Opti-Myst fireplace before, and are wondering what it even is and how it works.

Does it Require Venting?

No, these types of fireplaces do not require any kind of venting or extraction.

Is it Possible to Mount My TV over the Fireplace?

Yes, you can certainly mount a TV above the fireplace. But we recommend that there is a minimum distance of 50 cm between the TV and fireplace. Furthermore, we would like to point out that no long term tests have been conducted with TVs over these fireplaces.

What Can I Decorate the Fireplace with, and Will the Humidity Destroy it?

The steam itself from the artificial flames does not cause any damage. But, do not place anything in front of the Bluetooth receiver because it may lose the signal. Therefore, we do not recommend stone, concrete or metal because these will block the signal.

What Can I Decorate My Opti-Myst Fireplace with?

• You can actually place what you want by simply considering the various recommendations.
• There should be no possibility of small things falling into the burner.
• The opening itself where the steam comes up must be free.
• The total weight must not exceed 5 kg, because this may cause damage to the fireplace.
• If a porous material is used, it should be regularly monitored for any stains or discolouration.

Can the Water Fireplace Be Installed Outdoors?

No, this is not something we recommend, because Dimplex Opti-Myst fireplaces are certified for indoor use only.

Is the Fire in Opti-Myst Fireplaces Real?

No, it is a flame made of water vapors. The flame is made of LED-light and water. There is, therefore, no danger involved using the water fireplaces.

How Do I Best Clean and Maintain My New Water Fireplace?

• For normal cleaning, just use a soft, damp cloth. Note DO NOT use rough cloths, sponges, or anything else that grinds. Because it will destroy the surface.
• Once a week, we recommend cleaning various plumbing units with soapy water. Remove the spring in the filler cap by gently pressing down. The tub is cleaned to increase efficiency.
• A good idea is also to check the air filters a couple times a week. Here you look for discolourations. This is carefully removed by rinsing it.

What is the Difference between an Opti-Myst Fireplace and an Electric Fireplace?

The Opti-Myst fireplace in itself is electric. The difference between an Opti-Myst fireplace and an electric fireplace is how the flames are created. With a water vapour fireplace flames are created by water vapour. In an ordinary electric fireplace, the flames are created by mirror reflections.

Can an Opti-Myst Fireplace Be Built into the Wall?

Yes, you can built the water fireplace into the wall. We can make the frame according to measures, so it is customized for you.

Does an Opti-Myst Fireplace Require Power?

An Opti-Myst fireplace requires power from a regular outlet. Thus, It is not possible to get the fireplace started whiteout a supply of electricity.

Is it Possible to Add Scents or Oils to the Fireplace?

We do not recommend adding scents or oils to a water vapour fireplace.

Is it Possible to Change the Colour of the Flames?

No, it is not possible to change the flame colour in the Opti-Myst fireplaces, as they do not include a flame colour theme in the settings.

Can I Change the Look of the Flames?

Yes, in the Dimplex Opti-Myst fireplace there are spacers that allow you to adjust the gaps between the flames as well as adjust the openings. So it is possible to make an old-fashioned traditional fire but also a more modern linear flame.

What Does it Take to Connect Mulitiple Burners Together?

A new connection kit is required for each burner. Otherwise it would not work optimally and could be overloaded.

Can I Use the Same Remote for Multiple Devices?

Yes, all connected Opti-Myst devices will be able to operate via a remote control. When you have several electric fireplaces at home, you can quickly switch them on and off at once. 

Is a Copper Installation Required?

No, copper pipes are not required. It is up to you and your plumber to conclude what you want to use.

How Many Different Adjustment Options are There for the Flames?

It is possible to set different flames between an intensity of 30% to 100%. However, only with a 10% increase in each step. So in total there are 7 in the unit.

Do These Water Fireplaces Need a Drain?

No, this is not necessary. These fireplaces are factory-set with safety sensors so that no leaks occur - the water supply will automatically be closed off in the event of error. These errors can, for example, be:

• Softwaretimer - if the unit is too long to fill, the fireplace stops and shuts off the water.
• Solenoid valve failure - shuts down and turns off the water. However, this happens very rarely.
• Overflow meter - The unit shuts down if the water is above the recommended line.
