Safety information - bioethanol fireplace
Get cosy with a bioethanol fireplace. The beautiful flames of the bio fireplace create warmth and joy in the close surroundings. A bio fireplace is a new replacement or supplement to the known wood burner and fireplace. A bio fireplace now makes it possible to have a fireplace inside, without having a chimney. It is ideal for small apartments and the like. Furthermore, a bio fireplace can be used as a secondary heat source for many homes. At bioethanol-fireplace.co.uk, we offer everything you will need to get up and running with your first biofireplace. Whether you are looking for small fireplaces to put on the table, a fireplace to hang on the wall, a large fireplace to stand on the floor or a built-in – you can find it here.
Biofireplaces burns bioethanol
A bio fireplace is driven by the fuel bioethanol, which is a biological fuel. Bioethanol is extracted from plant materials such as corn and potatoes and is ,therefore, produced by organic raw materials. Subsequently, when the purification and concentration of bioethanol happens, it does not emit any unnecessary additives from charcoal and wood.
Bioethanol, like many other products, comes in different qualities and it is important to buy bioethanol of high-quality. Buying and burning low-quality bioethanol can generate emissions and a bad smell. At bioethanol-fireplace.co.uk, we only sell high quality bioethanol with an alcohol percentage of a minimum of 96%, which means that the flames will be large and pure.
How to fill your biofireplace
A bio fireplace burns, as previously mentioned, bioethanol. The fuel is simply poured easily and securely into the combustion chamber of the fireplace. We recommend buying a bio fireplace starter kit, that includes a pitcher and a funnel, so the bioethanol can be poured down the combustion chamber safely. If you are planning to buy bigger amounts of bioethanol in larger containers, we recommend to buy a pump for bioethanol, which also ensures a safe transition of bioethanol from the container to the burner.
After filling the burner with bioethanol, we recommend to ignite the fireplace with a long lighter or long match for safety reasons.
Use of bioethanol
We recommend that the fuel chamber is filled 2/3 of its maximum capacity – especially if you are new to bio fires. Generally, wall mounted bioethanol fireplaces have a 1-liter combustion chamber, and using our recommendation you should only fill it with 0,7 liter of bioethanol. This prevents spilling and the potential of any uncontrollable flames. This amount of bioethanol will typically burn between 1.5 and 2 hours, depending on the size of the flame, which typically can be regulated on the bio fireplace.
What NOT to do
You should NEVER pour bioethanol into your bio fireplace while it is still burning or while the burner is still hot. If you are unsure if the fire is still burning, you should use the extinguishing tool in order to smother the fire. After killing the fire you should wait at least 15 minutes before pouring new bioethanol into the combustion chamber.
Be careful when pouring bioethanol into the burner. If there is any spilling next to the burner, please remove the spilled bioethanol and ensure that this does not ignite, when the fireplace is lit.
Installing the biofireplace
First, make sure to remove all packaging from the bio fireplace – this is cardboard, plastic, and the like. Then select an appropriate location for the fireplace to be installed where curtains, decorations, or other objects will not get in the way. The burner is designed to be located at sites of robust non-combustible surfaces.
All our wall-mounted bio fireplaces have included brackets and screws and they all have an isolated backplate, which means that they can be hung on any type of wall.
