Sustainability and CSR
Today, sustainability has become a big og comprehensive part of our daily lives, both on a personal level but also on a business level as well. The main focus is to maintain the environment rather than harming it. It is about not compromising the ability for fure generations to meet their environmental needs. At Bioethanol-Fireplace we understand the importance of incorporating ways to reduce our carbon footprint and we are thus trying to implement procedures that ensures we respect and follow the three components of the triple bottom line; People, Planet, and Profit.
We take our social responsibility very serious and everyday we strive to be better as well as finding new ways to develop sustainable processes and sell eco-friendly products and bio ethanol fires. With our eco-friendly bio ethanol fires, our customers have the ability to reduce their CO2-footprint while still maintaining and creating the warm and cosy fireplace atmosphere we know from the traditional fireplace. Bioethanol fuel is the reason why our bio fireplaces are an eco-friendly alternative to the traditional and classic fireplace. The bioethanol fuel for your bio fireplace is mainly produced of organic materials such as potatoes, corn, or sugar cane. As the bioethanol fuel is CO2-neutral, it is therefore possible for you to create beautiful flames in your bioethanol fireplace with a good conscience. This is also why you do not need to install a chimney, as bio ethanol fuel emits neither emits smoke, ash, or soot. See all of our bioethanol fireplaces here and choose your favourite!

How you make a difference
We want to provide our customers with the opportunity to reduce their CO2-footprint when they purchase from us, which is why it is now possible for our customers to compensate their CO2-footprint by supporting the organisation South pole. It is possible to do so by adding the CO2 compensation to your shopping cart when you check out. When adding the compensation to your shopping cart, it e.g., covers the CO2 that is released when transporting the product from our warehouse and home to you. South pole develops and supports more than 700 different climate related projects all over the world.
It works in such a way that we gather your contributions, and then we also contribute ourselves. Every three months the contributes are sent as carbon credits to South pole. South pole then invest these carbon credits into different projects after our choice, and we have chosen to support two certified projects - Cookstoves for Maasai Communities and Safe Community Water Supply.
In addition to this, we are collaborating with the organisation Growing Trees Network, which is a non-profit organisation that focuses on afforestation in Denmark, Bolivia, and Ghana. The purpose is to ensure clean water, climate protection, and the reduction of CO2 emissions. Bioethanol-fireplace.co.uk plant trees, and the contributions from our customers therefore goes straight to the organisation, Growing Trees Network. UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals
Several of our projects, including Growing Trees Network, as well as the certified projects we have chosen from South pole, oblige to several of the 17 goals for sustainable development. Common for these goals is that they are universal goals applicable to UN member states. The goals commits to bring more justice, affluence, and peace into the world before 2030. This includes e.g., ending poverty, obtain gender equality, improve the overall health and education for all, combat climate changes, as well as protecting the sea, forests, and much more. At Bioethanol-fireplace.co.uk we have chosen to support projects that actively work with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as part of our sustainable actions taken within our company.
