Forma 1200 Island Built-In Bioethanol Fireplace with FLA4 990 Logs

The Forma 1200 Island is a premium built-in bioethanol fireplace designed to be installed as a freestanding "island” feature, with flames visible from all four sides. Paired with the FLA4 990 Logs FLOGS burner, it delivers a striking and lifelike flame display, where realistic decorative logs sit directly within the fire – creating depth, warmth and the look of a traditional fireplace, completely without smoke, soot or a chimney.

This configuration provides uninterrupted views of the flames from every angle and is particularly well suited to open-plan interiors, where the fireplace acts as a strong architectural focal point. Please note that any structure or ceiling feature above the fireplace must be self-supporting, as the Forma Island frame itself is not load-bearing.

Automatic Bioethanol Burner with FLOGS Technology

This version of the Forma 1200 Island is supplied with the FLA4 990 Logs FLOGS, Planika Fires’ advanced automatic bioethanol burner with integrated decorative logs.

The burner uses Planika’s patented BEV® (Burning Ethanol Vapours) technology, where bioethanol is evaporated before combustion. This ensures a clean, stable and odourless flame, while keeping the logs free from soot and preserving their realistic texture and colour over time. The flame height can be adjusted across 6 levels, allowing you to tailor both ambience and heat output.

The burner is supplied with a remote control and can also be operated via a touch control panel on the unit or a mobile app. Smart Home integration is available with the optional SHS module. Multiple integrated safety sensors – including tilt, temperature, overfill and CO₂ sensors – continuously monitor operation, ensuring safe and reliable everyday use.

Materials and Finish

The Forma 1200 Island is constructed from galvanised steel with a black powder-coated finish and supplied with tempered safety glass on all sides. This combination creates a clean, timeless aesthetic that complements modern interiors and architectural fireplace designs.

The glass panels help shield the flames from draughts and minor air movement, resulting in a calmer and more consistent flame pattern.

Installation
