How to properly connect a wood stove?
Unlike some other gas fireplaces, an authorized installer is not required here. Although we recommend contacting a professional when doing the installation. If you don’t have that alternative, you can easily install our stoves yourself. It is mandatory that an abstractor is connected to the fireplace, as it is not possible to have a wood burning fire without a vent.
When choosing the location for the burning stove, it is best to avoid placement of an exterior wall, as this can cause a large energy loss on especially poorly insulated exterior walls. It is recommended that you install the stove in a room in the house where the floor is made of refractory materials. If this is not the case, install a fireproof plate under the fireplace that sticks out at least 50 cm in front and 30 cm to the sides of the oven. So you don’t risk anything when using the stove.
The distance to the walls and furniture in deciding where to place the stove is also important to remember. If there are fire resistant walls a distance of 20-30 cm is sufficient, otherwise you should have at least 40-60 cm for everything combustible.
The chimney should have a minimum size of 15 x 15 cm and should stand out at least 4.5 meters above the fire. If your chimney is mounted by a professional, the stove is not insured and in the event of an accident, you are responsible for the cost. Find all your accessories with us!
How to properly light up wood stoves?
It is extremely important that you only utilize dry firewood with a maximum moisture content of 25% to fuel your fireplace. In many hardware stores, a humidity meter can be purchased that you can use to measure the moisture of your wood.
Place 4-6 pieces of wood in the oven on top of each other. Begin with the smallest piece and then place on top of each other and place a small ignition block on top is the best way to fuel the fire. Open the air regulator all the way up to warm up your stove. The best way to light the wood completely by heating the chimney quickly and build up a fire like mentioned before. This will also increase efficiency.
