Burners for Foco Built-in Fireplaces
For our Foco built-in fireplaces, you have the opportunity to choose from a lot of different burners. So figuring out which burner to choose can be a little difficult.
Therefore, on this page, you will find an in-depth review of the various bioethanol and Opti-Myst burners that you can choose from our range of Foco built-in fireplaces.
Slimline Manual Burner
You will find the Slimline burner in our very narrow Foco Ultra Slim fireplaces.
The Slimline burner is a so-called manual burner. This means that the bioethanol must be filled directly into the opening of the burner. Ignition of the burner is done with a lighter and is extinguished by suffocating the fire. The Slimline burner also offers the option to adjust the size of the flame.
The advantage of a manual burner like Slimline is that it does not require any connection to electricity, and the price is low compared to automatic burners.
In our standard line-up of Foco fireplaces the following Slimeline burners are available:

Oblong Manual Bioethanol Burner
This traditional bioethanol burner is oblong and offers the possibility to adjust the flame size. The burner is standard in all our Foco fireplaces, except the Ultra Slim models.
The burner is manual and must therefore be lit with a lighter and extinguished by suffocating the fire. Bioethanol is filled directly into the opening of the burner - while the fireplace is not lit.
As with other manual bioethanol burners, it does not require electricity. The installation is therefore straightforward. The advantage of a manual burner is also that it cost much less than an automatic bio burner.
Our traditional manual burner comes in many sizes, but in our standard Foco fireplaces you will encounter the following sizes:
- Manual bioethanol burner - 45 cm
- Manual bioethanol burner - 60 cm
- Manual bioethanol burner - 80 cm
- Manual bioethanol burner - 100 cm

Automatic Burner
Here you get a standard automatic bioethanol burner that is available for our Foco fireplaces with a depth of 30 cm or more.
With this automatic burner, it is possible to turn the fireplace on/off with the included remote control.
Bioethanol is filled into the internal fuel tank, where the bioethanol will be stored until needed. It is therefore not needed to refill the burner before each use, as it is on manual burners.
The Automatic Burner is equipped with several different safety sensors that can automatically turn off the fireplace in case of overheating or failure. However, the burner must be connected to a power outlet to function.
Our Automatic Burners are available in many different sizes, but in the Foco fireplaces you will only encounter two sizes:

Guide for Automatic burners
Planika PrimeFire
PrimeFire is an exclusive automatic bioethanol burner from the manufacturer Planika, which can be used in our Foco fireplaces with a depth of 30 cm or more.
PrimeFire uses Planika's patented BEV technology (Burning Ethanol Vapours), which evaporates the bioethanol before it is burned. This makes it possible to adjust the flame size - on PrimeFire on two levels.
The bioethanol is filled into an internal fuel tank where it is stored until used. It is, therefore, not necessary to fill the burner before each use, as it is on a manual burner.
Planika PrimeFire is controlled via a control panel on the burner or via a remote control*
The bioethanol burner is equipped with a large number of safety sensors that can automatically switch off the fireplace in the event of a fault, overheating, High CO2 level, etc. However, PrimeFire must be plugged into electricity to function.
The PrimeFire burner comes in two different sizes that will fit into our Foco fireplaces:

Planika FLA 3 & FLA 3+
Fire Line Automatic 3 (FLA 3) is Planika's 3rd generation of automatic bioethanol burners and can be used in our Foco fireplaces with a depth of 40 cm.
FLA 3 uses Planika's patented BEV technology (Burning Ethanol Vapours), which evaporates the ethanol before burning it. This makes it possible to adjust the size of the flames - on FLA 3 and FLA 3+ on six levels.
Bioethanol is filled into an internal container, where it is kept separated from the fire and only pumped into combustion when needed. It is therefore not necessary to fill the burner before each use, as it is on manual burners.
The difference between FLA 3 and FLA 3+ is that the + version has a much larger fuel container, which gives a longer burning time between fillings.
Planika FLA 3 can be controlled via the control panel on top of the burner, via a remote control*, or using a mobile/tablet application.
The FLA 3 burners are equipped with a large number of safety sensors that can automatically turn off the fireplace in the event of an error, overheating, high CO2 levels, etc. However, FLA 3 must be connected to an electric power outlet to function.

Magic Fire Mistero
Mistero is an Opti-Myst burner developed by the Dutch manufacturer Magic Fire by Safretti. Unlike bio fireplaces, an Opti-Myst burner does not create real fire, instead, it creates a flame effect using water vapour and LED lights.
One can choose to connect the Mistero burner to a fixed water connection or use the built-in water tanks. The advantage of a fixed water connection is that you don't have to refill water continuously - if you choose to use the built-in water tank, a refill last for up to 8 hours.
Mistero is controlled via a small remote control attached to the burner. Also, it is possible to purchase a Bluetooth module that makes it possible to turn Mistero on/off with a smartphone.
